Our
Programs

With a growing social community of 15,000+ followers, Yo Soy AfroLatina is shifting how we show up for one another and bringing our digital efforts IRL.

We are committed to holding space for our community and bringing visibility to Afro Latinx women through our free and low-cost community-driven programs.

Primas & Amigas Bookclub

This monthly programming highlights the literary work of Black and Latinx authors with free and low-cost bookclub meetups in the Houston area. We aim to connect readers with books while curating an experience that expand on the intersection of Afro Latinx identity and spread access for those who have been cut off from literature.

YSAL Social Collective

In a series of events throughout the year, we invite collective members to create a community in fun, engaging, and authentic environments that bring visibility to Afro Latinx women in the greater-Houston area and lay the foundation for the next generation of young women to transform our world.

Afro Latina Day

Our signature annual programming will highlight the cultural impact of International Afro-Latina, and Afro-Caribbean Diaspora Women's Day. Rooted in nurturing our community we will gather to reconnect, give back, and celebrate one another in honor of the historic day that took place in the Dominican Republic on 25 July, 1992.
